Dancers
Are you looking for a fun way to keep fit?
Don't fancy running? Not into sport?
Ever watched 'Strictly'?
...   Then you know dancing is good exercise!

It's not all about keeping fit though. We enjoy Morris for a few more  reasons:
  • We like to think we are good company
  • It's suitable for all ages and both sexes
  • It helps keep the tradition alive
  • It's a chance to learn something new

...and it's fun!

We always welcome people who would like to find out a bit more about Morris or who would like to have a go. No experience is needed and we will teach you for free.

Musicians
Do you play an instrument?
Looking for something different to just joining a band or playing at open mic evenings?

As a Morris musician, you can play in public whilst the dancers also entertain the audience!

Morris tunes were traditionally played on three-hole-pipe and tabor, fiddle, melodeon, accordian and concertina, but these days a wide selection of instruments are used.

Any experience of folk or ceilidh music is probably an advantage, but is not essential. Many of the tunes we play are now almost exclusive to Morris dancing but are largely traditional.

If you fancy joining us, whatever you play , come along and give it a try
